The group blended politically charged lyrics with psychedelic rock and became closely associated with the anti-war movement of the era.

McDonald’s most enduring composition, “I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag,” became a rallying cry for Vietnam War protesters.
